Easy Thanksgiving Turkey Cookies

I love really cute and fun holiday food, especially when I can make them quickly! Whether it’s Owl Cupcakes and Oreo Bats for fall and Halloween, Candy Cane Dippers for Christmas, or these darling Turkey Cookies for Thanksgiving, they’re a wonderfully easy way to celebrate the holidays. No baking or cooking required! These are perfect for little (and big) helpers, and my kids of all ages love to be in the kitchen with me to help dip and put the faces on.

They’re so fun for putting out on a Thanksgiving dessert table, and are especially popular with the kid crowd. Or package them up and deliver to friends and neighbors as a fun holiday gift!

Nutter Butter Turkey Cookies

Equipment

  • Wax paper or parchment paper
  • Small glass bowl

Instructions

Nutter Butter

In a glass bowl, microwave the chocolate chips for 20-30 seconds, then in 10-second intervals until you can stir smooth.

Using a spoon, spread melted chocolate on the top half of the cookie. You can also dip the entire half if you’d like to. Set it on a piece of wax paper or parchment paper.

TIP: Instead of dipping the top half of the cookie, I only spread it on the top. This reduces the amount of chocolate I need to use, and takes makes less mess.

Place the eyes at the top of the cookie, then add a whole orange M&M as a nose, directly underneath. Break a red M&M in half (or even fourths), and place to the right of the orange candy for the gobbler.

Let the chocolate set before packaging. Store in an airtight container for up to 5 days.

Add candy corn around the top of the cookie in a semi-circle as the feathers.

TIP: Make these gluten-free by using Gluten-Free Oreos! Everything else is already gluten-free. My daughter loves these!

Oreo Turkey Cookies

FAQ

Can I make these gluten-free?

The Oreo version you can! Just sub out regular Oreos for the gluten-free version.

Will any round sandwich cookies work?

Yes! You can use any kind of round sandwich cookies–any brand or flavor will work.

What size candy eyes do you use?

I use the medium/regular size candy eyes–not the mini, or the largest size. I have tried the others and prefer the medium size, but any of them will work. It’s your preference!

Storage

Keep cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days. You can freeze them for up to 3 months.
