Farmhouse Style Bedding Ideas
A cozy farmhouse master bedroom refresh, featuring simple farmhouse style bedding ideas. The coziest throws, blankets, and bedding, perfect for a farmhouse bedroom.
It was time for new bedding in our master bedroom. I knew it had been time for awhile, but I really wanted to find the perfect thing. All things cozy is my main goal, and I was looking for something that would meet that, but also be lovely as well. I was so excited to find a collection of blankets, bedding, and pillow covers that met every qualification!
Farmhouse Style Bedding
What does the perfect bed look like to you? When I close my eyes and imagine not just what it looks like, but also what it feels like, I get a very specific image. Here’s my wish list:
- Crisp white bedding with cream accents, or a navy/dark blue in a pattern such as a ticking
- Plenty of pillows—super comfy ones for laying on, and plump pillows for aesthetics
- Ruffles…somewhere
- Cozy blankets and throws—my bed is a favorite place to snuggle up and read, watch a movie, or take a nap
- Down comforter that works through the winter and summer months
White Farmhouse Bedding
White farmhouse bedding has always been my go-to. There is just something so timeless and classic about crisp white bedding. I’ve always had it, and even with six kids, it’s been my favorite. I love that it goes with any paint color, any pillows or other decor. It’s clean, light, and bright, and also is the epitome of farmhouse style. White bedding just brightens up a space!
I’ve always had a down comforter on our bed, all through the year. Usually it was a layer under our top quilt, but I was getting tired of having to wash it so often. This time I was looking for a duvet cover, so I could wash the cover instead.
When I came across this linen bedding, I knew it would be perfect. I love the look of linen, and I adore the wood button embellishments along the the bottom of the duvet and tops of the shams. They are the perfect touch!
If you’re looking for a Joanna Gaines modern farmhouse bedding look, or farmhouse master bedroom ideas, this is a great option.
Farmhouse BEdding: Throws, Blankets, and Pillows
There are usually at least a couple of blankets on my bed–draped or folded–ready to be used any time. They aren’t for looks! Snuggling up on my bed with a good book or movie is one of my favorite things to do. I’ll often work from my bed too–cover up with a blanket, grab my laptop, and work in comfort. Finding cozy and cute blankets were high on my list.
One of my all-time favorites is this waffle blanket with the most darling ruffled edge. It’s just enough to add the cutest style, but not over the top. It’s big–so I can snuggle with someone else too (all my kids fit under this blanket!). I like to fold it either at the top or bottom of the bed, so it adds to the look of the made bed, but it’s ready any time.
The blanket is light, so it works for the spring and summer, but also heavy enough for fall and winter. The creamy beige/tan color works really well with the white, and adds a bit of contrast, all while staying within a neutral palette.
A chunky knit throw was next on my list. I love the way they look and feel and they’re perfect for tossing at the end of the bed. Often my kids will steal it–and use it when they’re watching a show in the other room!
Pillows are one of favorites on a bed. We have eight! Two each for sleeping, and four for decor. The bed pillows have pillowcases with the cutest wide ruffle edge, which lends such a lovely layered touch. Euro-sized linen pillows in both natural and white are added in front.
I’m so happy with it! It’s exactly what I was looking for and hoping for.
