An autumn farmhouse home tour, featuring simple fall touches. Welcome to Old Salt Farm!
What a busy fall it’s been around my house! I’ve been so behind in getting fall decor out than other years, but slowly adding it in here and there. Not all of the rooms that usually get the fall treatment are decorated, but the main living spaces are! But my mantra has always been simplicity, which is my favorite for many reasons! Join me for a quick peek around Old Salt Farm in the autumn.
Autumn Farmhouse Home
Usually my porch is spilling over with pumpkins and mums about this time of year. With packed weekends and busy nights, there just hasn’t been time to pick them out. (We did manage a few for carving.) But the gorgeous fall wreath I found a few years ago is the perfect thing to bring autumn touches to this fall porch, along with my favorite rugs. And don’t forget the rocking chairs…they stay out all year long!
The fall colors are stunning right now, I think even more vibrant than past years. It’s been such a lovely September and October, and I’ve just been soaking it all up. There’s a gorgeous red tree on the hill behind my house, and I love staring out my kitchen window or family room windows to see it and all the others. Upstate NY is one of the prettiest places in autumn!
Inside I focused on adding neutral fall stems, pillows, and throw blankets. Even if I don’t have a ton of time for decorating, those few simple things will add the touch of fall I love. It doesn’t have to be complicated to be beautiful!
Gingham will always be my favorite, and this cute brown gingham dish towel perfect in this space. A Fall Market sign above the sink, brown acorn wreath, fall stems, and bit of greenery is all I needed in the kitchen for a bit of autumn.
I went back and forth with the white pitcher of fall stems I originally had on the kitchen island. Eventually I switched them to the dining table, so you’ll see them again in these pictures! Now the island has a round basket with faux pumpkins in it, and I’m really liking the switch. But who knows, maybe I’ll change my mind again!
Brown gingham came into the family room too, along with some ruffled linen pillows and copper pumpkins.
My little hallway next to the stairs got a few fall leaves on top of the white cabinet…
One of my girls recently got new bedding for her room, and I’m sharing it here because it also is giving the coziest fall vibes! Now we’re trying to decide what to hang on the wall…
