A collection of easy and fun hairstyles for little girls with short hair and long hair, perfect for summer and warm weather.
Here in Texas. the summers are HOT and HUMID, and whether you’re hair is long or short, it just feels so much better to get it up and off your neck and away from your face. My girls have been asking for different ways to do their hair up this summer, but since I really haven’t “done” long hair before, I decided to go out and find some easy, quick summer hairstyles for little girls for both long and short hair. I found some darling styles I can’t wait to try, and thought I would share them with you!
I like to “do” my girls’ hair everyday. It’s a ritual for us–they each come into my bathroom, and we talk while I do their hair for the day. It’s our time together, and one of my very favorite things. My girls have had short hair (a-line bobs) for most of their lives, so our routine has almost always included curling it or blowing it out. Recently one of my girls has decided to grow hers out for ballet–it needs to be longer so it’s easier to put back in a ballet bun.
We are always looking for fun and easy ideas for little girls hair, both long and short, and here are 10 super cute hairstyles we can’t wait to try!

This is an adorable style for longer hair, and I love the side look!
A unique twist on French Braids…just a little something extra!
What an adorable look! It’s not often you see three buns together like this, and it makes the hair seem so much more thick and full. You could do this on short hair too, using the top half of the hair.
Buns are a favorite at our house, and I love what the extra side braids do for the whole look. Just a couple more minutes, but make such a difference.
This looks super complicated, but it’s actually easier than it looks. The messy buns are the perfect finish.
You simply can’t beat 10 seconds.
I’m in love with this super simple hairstyle, and you can do it with long or short hair. For short hair, just do this on the top half, and you’ve got hair up and out of the way in an adorable fashion.
How adorable is this? “Hair bows”? Love it!
So fancy, but so simple and easy! Dress it up or down, school or event. Love!
What an adorably easy way to dress up a short hairstyle!
Absolutely. When I’m working with short hair, I’ll adapt a hairstyle typically for longer hair on the top half of the head, which are the longer hairs. The short hair you can leave down and curl.
These are at a beginner-intermediate level. If you can braid, they’ll be much easier.
Have so much fun with these hairstyles for both long and short hair. They’re all simple and adorable!
