Valentine Indoor S’mores Recipe

You can make Indoor S’mores all year long, and this yummy Valentine version is so fun and easy!

We really love all kinds of s’mores, and make them outdoors over a campfire throughout the summer and into the fall. But regardless of the season or the temperature outside, Indoor S’mores are always a hit! They’ve got all the flavors and textures of traditional S’mores, except they come in a bar form. Chewy, crunchy, chocolatey…so yummy! Best of all, you can make them anytime, in no time at all!

Valentine Indoor S’mores

I like to make fun treats for my kids leading up to Valentine’s Day, and this week I made a batch of Indoor S’mores with a Valentine twist. They gobbled them up, and were asking for more! These are such a fun Valentine dessert for any party or celebration–everything from class parties to school lunches and at home with your kids. Give them to friends, neighbors, teachers, co workers…they’ll love them too!

Ingredients you’ll need to make Indoor S’mores

All you need in addition to the regular indoor s’mores ingredients are Valentine M&Ms. We like peanut M&Ms, but you can use plain or peanut butter–whatever you like.

  • Golden Grahams cereal (or store brand)
  • Mini marshmallows
  • Chocolate chips
  • Butter
  • Vanilla extract
  • Karo syrup
  • Valentine M&Ms

How to make Indoor S’mores

These are a lot like making Rice Krispie treats, with a couple of different ingredients. It all starts with Golden Grahams cereal, but I’ve found that a store brand works just as well in this recipe. I used the Wegman’s store brand, and actually preferred them. I was able to buy three boxes of the store brand compared to just one of the name brand, so a huge price difference as well. If you prefer name brand, that’s okay too–just nice to have an option, especially if you’re planning to make more than one batch.

Pour the entire box of cereal into large mixing bowl and set aside. In a large saucepan, melt the marshmallows, butter, chocolate chips and Karo syrup, stirring well until smooth. Remove from heat and add the vanilla. Pour over the top of the cereal and mix well until thoroughly coated. Stir in additional mini marshmallows and M&Ms. Press into a buttered 9×13 baking dish, then sprinkle with more chocolate chips. Cool completely, then cut into squares.
