It’s the spookiest time of year, and it’s time to celebrate! I created this fun and festive Halloween Trail Mix that’s perfect for all of your holiday gatherings and parties, giving as gifts, and sending with your kids in their lunches. A cute gift is included, so you can package it up and spread a little Halloween love.

We love to enjoy the holidays with festive food, and Halloween is no different. Whether it’s Owl Cupcakes, Toasted Pumpkin Seeds, or the Best Caramel Apples, it’s the season to eat and celebrate. This trail mix is fun because it really does takes just minutes to put together, and it’s totally customizable. Mix it up based on your own likes and preferences–it’s easy to add or omit whatever you like. I don’t even make it the same way every time!
It also makes a really fun gift idea, and when you package it up with a cute tag, it’s perfect for friends, neighbors, teachers, and even as party favors (class parties) and hostess gifts.

Gift Idea Supplies
If you plan to give this as a gift or party favor, you’ll need the following supplies.
- Clear treat bags
- Washi tape or twine
- White cardstock
- Tag (download below)
- Scissors
Instructions
Decide which ingredient items you’d like to include in your trail mix, and lay them out on a cookie sheet. Amounts are really up to you–how much you want to make, and if you like one item more than another. I like to use pretzels and cereal (Golden Grahams in this version) as the base, then the sweet stuff to complement. I

Mix all the ingredients together on the cookie sheet.
Melt about 1/2 cup chocolate chips (regular or white chocolate) in the microwave in a glass bowl. Start with 20-30 seconds, stir well, then in 5 second intervals until melted.
Using a spoon, drizzle the chocolate over the trail mix. Let sit until hardened.

Store in an airtight container.
Gift packaging
Fill a clear plastic treat bag with trail mix. Fold the top over, tuck in the ends, and secure with spooky washi tape.

Download and print the tag on to white cardstock, cut out with scissors, and adhere to the front of the bag. You can also tie the bag closed with a piece of ribbon or baker’s twine, punch a hole in the tag, and tie it on to the top.

FAQ
Keep it in an airtight container, and it will be fresh for 5-7 days.
Yes! I’ve also included tags that don’t say “trail mix” on them, so you can use them for any Halloween gift or treat. Look for them in the download section.

I’ve included two different tags: one says ” Halloween trail mix”, and the other says “Happy Halloween” so you can adhere it to any treat or gift. Print on to white card stock, then use a glass to trace a circle around the text so you can them out.
