Red, White, And Blue Cookies
Make these adorable and super easy red, white, and blue cookies, full of patriotic sprinkles. Perfect for the 4th of July, Memorial Day, and all summer long!
With the 4th of July right around the corner, I’ve been busy thinking of some really fun & easy food ideas to celebrate the big day. There are always a lot of kids to feed, and I love serving cute treats that I can make ahead of time, and that are easy to eat. Red white and blue sprinkle cookies are the perfect answer, and they’re always a huge hit!
Red, White and Blue Cookies
They really could not be any easier, and seriously, they are so adorable! I like to use a sugar cookie mix to make these cookies, and I can whip up a batch in just a few minutes. I love the adorable patriotic sprinkles, and I put the cookies on popsicle sticks to make them even more festive & fun.
How to make Red, White, and Blue Cookies
You can use any sugar cookie dough you like–whether it’s your favorite recipe, or a mix. I almost always use a mix, and since I have a little girl that is gluten-free, I can easily use a GF mix for her too. You can also make these a couple of days ahead, which will save you time on the big day.
To make the sprinkle cookies, once your dough is prepared, make balls of dough that are about the size of golf ball, roll them in sprinkles, and place on a cookie sheet about 3-4 inches apart. Â
Place a popsicle stick in the center of each cookie—to the halfway point–then use a glass to flatten each one slightly. Â
Bake according to your cookie mix/recipe directions, then let them completely cool before removing from the pan. Â That’s an important step–if you pick them up too soon, the popsicle stick will break right out of the cookies.
You can make these for any season, holiday, or theme, but using different colored sprinkles. They would also make perfect bake sale cookies!
