Our King of Christmas Tree

I received a King of Christmas tree to review. All opinions are 100% mine. Affiliate links are also included for your convenience. Please see my full disclosure.

There are so many reasons to love a King of Christmas tree, and I’m sharing all the details about our experience. If you’re looking for incredibly realistic branches, quick and easy setup, warm LED lights, varying light and tree options, and a truly lovely tree, this is for you.

We cut down a Christmas tree (or two or three) every year as a family. It’s a holiday tradition that goes back many years, and it’s one of our very favorites. I’d resisted for a long time getting any kind of artificial tree, but several years ago I decided it would be nice to have one in addition to the real one we cut down. As I’m used to real trees, and love everything about them, I’ve been very particular about what an artificial tree would look like. I also wanted it to be very easy (we already have all the work from a real tree!), and have warm white lights, instead of cool white for a cozier glow. I’ve had a couple of other artificial trees, and this one is by far my favorite.

This year we are in temporary housing while we build our new home, Cottage on Blackberry Hill. Our space is very small, and I needed a tree that would fit well here, but also in our new house next Christmas. Enter in the stunning 9 ft. Royal Fir Slim by King of Christmas. It’s the perfect fit!

What comes in the box?

I was impressed when I first opened the box, and saw everything that was included. My tree came in a set of two boxes, with parts of the tree in each, along with all of the supplies.

  • Tree Stand
  • Tree Sections
  • Storage Bag
  • Protective Gloves
  • Instruction Manuals
  • Remote

Easy setup

I’ve set up plenty of artificial trees before, and there is definitely a range of how easy or time consuming it is. This tree is 9 feet, and I wasn’t sure low long it would take to put it together. But the answer is literally less than 5 minutes! It’s so so fast. Ours came in three sections clearly marked, A-C. Each section easily slides into place and latches securely. Push down on the branches and they fall into place. Repeat each section, and voila! The tree is up! A little fluffing as needed, and you’re ready to plug in and decorate. I couldn’t believe how fast it is.

I think if you chose a tree that was less than 8 feet, you could probably put it up by yourself, depending on how tall you are. The only thing you’d need help with is lifting that final piece on the top.

Realistic branches

The branches and tips are my favorite part of the tree. They look so much like a real tree–I keep staring at them! I’m so happy about how it looks and compares to the trees we cut down. It really gives the whole vibe of that “just cut down” look. The tree is a lovely shape, but what makes it especially look real is that the branches poke out here and there just like they would if they’d grown naturally. It’s the perfect combination of the two.

Lights

My favorite lighting is the warm white glow. I’m not a huge fan of cool white lights in general, but especially on a Christmas tree. When the other lights go off, I want to bask in all the coziness of warm white lights. I was so thrilled to see that on this tree. It’s incredibly lovely both during the day when it’s light outside, but also at night when just the lights of the tree are on.

There are 8 different light settings on the remote, done with just the touch of a button!

  • white
  • blinking white
  • fading white
  • color
  • blinking color
  • fading color
  • blinking white to blinking color
  • fading white to fading color

Cost and Budget

When I was browsing and looking through all of the trees on the King of Christmas site, I was glad to see quite a range in variety, both in type and size of tree as well as pricing. Whether you need a tall tree or shorter tree, slim or full tree, or if you have a larger or smaller budget, there are trees to fit all all of those needs.

We are so happy with our tree. It lights up the corner of our apartment so beautifully–I know it’s early October, but I think I’m going to just keep it up through Christmas! If you have any questions, please let me know–I’d love to help if I can.
