15 Fun & Fabulous Popcorn Recipes
It’s no secret that our family loves popcorn. Â Really, it’s more of an obsession. Â It’s almost a daily occurrence at our house, and it’s been a long time since I haven’t heard “can we have popcorn?”. My oldest son might actually totally survive on popcorn alone, he eats so much of it! We add butter and salt most often, but I also love to create and try new popcorn recipes too. Â Popcorn is really the perfect snack and even dessert! It’s wonderful for parties, at home with family, serving to company, as an after school snack, taking to the classroom, dressing up for holidays, packaging up as gifts, and…what movie night is complete without popcorn?
So, I gathered some of the ones I love the best, and the ones on my absolute MUST try list. Â If you’re like me, your mouth will be watering, and you’ll head straight to the kitchen to whip up a batch of popcorn after you finish reading!
The BEST Caramel Popcorn, Simply Kierste
Caramel Popcorn is my FAVORITE. Â It’s my weakness, for sure, but it has to be chewy. Â Crunchy popcorn is good and all, but for me, it’s all about the gooey factor. Â This is hands down the best recipe I’ve ever made, and if you haven’t ever had chewy popcorn, NOW is the time. Â :)
We’ve made this popcorn cake so many times, and it’s always a huge hit. Â I usually use peanut M&Ms, but you could certainly use chocolate ones, or even gumdrops, sixlets, or other candy. Â I love that you can switch out the candy colors to match any holiday or party color scheme, and it’s perfect for my daughter who can’t have gluten. Â It’s a fun alternative to a traditional cake, and kids LOVE it.
Popcorn Lollipops, Simply Kierste
This is another kid favorite! Lollipops and Popcorn? They can’t resist. Personalize them for birthday parties, classroom parties, holidays, and more!
Make Your Own Microwave Popcorn, Frugal Living NW
We don’t buy or use microwave popcorn, because we go through it so fast. We have an air popper that we got as a wedding gift, and it’s lasted ALL these years. :) Â It’s gotten a lot of use! Â I’d love to try this method though–I think my kids would get a huge kick out of it!
Oreos and Cream Popcorn, Erica’s Sweet Tooth
Oreos and Popcorn? Holy moly! Â My favorite Oreos are the mint ones, and I’m pretty sure I’m going to have to try this recipe with them. Â Soon.
Red Hot Cinnamon Popcorn, Taste and TellÂ
I. Love. Red Hots. Â I’ve added them to popcorn before, but I’ve never melted them and poured it on, which sounds pretty darn fabulous to me! Â It’s so pretty too…wouldn’t it be so cute as a gift? Perfect for Christmas and Valentine’s Day too!
The Best Lemon Popcorn, Our Thrifty Ideas
If you’re new here (welcome!), you need to know something about me. Â I ADORE lemon. Â When I came across this recipe, I immediately thought how utterly brilliant it was, and it went directly on my absolutely-try-at-the-very-soonest-possible-moment list.
Funfetti Birthday Cake Popcorn, Double Duty Mommy
While I’m not a huge birthday cake flavor girl, my kids ARE. Â Every time we go out for ice cream, several of them, if not all of them, choose some type of birthday cake/funfetti ice cream. Â So…this went on my list! I think it would be so fun to serve at a birthday party, or all packaged up as a party favor. Â I think I might even surprise them on our family movie night…I would be the best. mom. ever.
Chocolate Peanut Butter Popcorn, Crazy Little Projects
This one was a no-brainer. Â My hubby is CRAZY about anything chocolate & peanut butter, and honestly, is there a better combination? I think not.
Puppy Chow Popcorn, Buns in My Oven
We call them Muddy Buddies at our house, but hey, pot-A-to, po-TAH-to, right? Either way, they’re pretty much the most addicting thing ever, so why not try it on popcorn?
Cilantro Lime Popcorn, Bake Your Day
I have a tendency to make sweet popcorn, but this savory recipe caught my eye. Cilantro is always in my fridge-I use it on everything. :) Â My kids love it too, and the cilantro/lime combo is way too yummy. Â I think this would be really fun to serve on a date night/game night with friends, or as part of a popcorn bar.
Old Fashioned Pink Popcorn, Nan’s Recipe Spot
You can make this old fashioned popcorn any color you like! Â It’s really versatile, and perfect for birthday parties, baby showers, holidays, gifts, and more!
Peanut Butter Cup Popcorn, Cookies and Cups
Yep. Â Chocolate & Peanut Butter.
With fall on the horizon (I CANNOT wait!!), all these yummy spice recipes are really standing out to me. Â When I came across this Gingerbread Popcorn, I thought it would be perfect to serve at fall parties, and even package up for gifts.
I told you.  Mouthwatering!!!  Now…I’m off to make some popcorn.  :)
