Cottage Farmhouse Christmas Decor
A collection of charming and festive farmhouse Christmas decor with a cozy cottage feel. These affordable finds are an easy way to add a little warmth and holiday character to your home.

This is our second Christmas at Cottage on Blackberry Hill, and I’ve been looking for a few more pieces of decor. Last year we had just moved in, and I was trying to get an idea what I had and where it would go in our new home. I discovered that I needed a few more things–some of it wasn’t a great match, or I’d had it for so long it was time to be replaced. I’m a minimalist with just about everything, including Christmas decor. I don’t usually put up a lot, so I really try to choose items that I love–and will love going forward.
Classic cottage or farmhouse style is my favorite. I look for gingham, ticking, and grain stripe fabrics; ribbons in reds, greens, and cream; antique brass finishes, garlands & wreaths, and anything with a vintage feel to it. I focus on the basics — a few pillows, cozy throw, some garland and wreaths, candlesticks, and ribbons on everything! I’m usually always one to choose a true red, but this year I decided to go with a more burgundy red in a couple of rooms, and I love how vintage it feels.
It’s only the beginning of October, but it really is the time to scoop up any kind of Christmas decor. I’ve learned the hard way that if I wait too much longer, all the best finds sell out. Take a peek at all of my finds!

A Cottage Farmhouse Christmas
I have all of these, and love them. The striped stockings are lined with velvet, and the bow is perfection. Not huge, but not small–and they are so soft! The pillow cover is 20×20, which is a really great size. The gold bow ornaments are SO cute — I’m trying to decided which tree I’ll put them in. When I saw the 12-inch wreaths I snatched some up, but I might go back for a few more. They’ll be perfect on my kitchen chairs, and perhaps on a few of my kitchen cabinets.
The merry rug might not look very big on the site, but it’s quite large, and perfect for a front porch. At 4 feet wide, it looks great even in front of double doors. If you want to double rugs, you’ll need a pretty good size layer underneath. I’m going back and forth on getting the framed Santa print. I’m not sure if I’d have a place for it, but it’s so cute! The bell is HUGE. But in a good way. It’s very substantial, and feels quality. I was so excited to find the tree skirt. This particular tree is 9 feet, and the stand is 42 inches, so I needed something pretty big. I thought about a basket or wood crate, but the size is prohibitive. I still might fashion something up to make it work, but I don’t have time this year. This ticking tree skirt is darling, and the red is more of a burgundy, which matches the ribbons on the tree–and it comes in not only 48 inches, but 60 inches!
I’ve been on the hunt for more candlesticks, but they’ve all been either way more than I wanted to spend, or not the right gold. I was thrilled to find these at such a great price! I love the long velvet bows. They are quite long, but the effect is beautiful. I also got enough to go on a few wreaths, and other places around the house. Comes in other reds and colors too. The Christmas ribbon set I couldn’t resist–perfect colors for decorating or packaging gifts.
I took a chance on these battery-operated candles for the tree, but I’m so pleased with them. Great warm white color, easy remote, and comes with enough candles to cover my 9 foot tree. I have this knit throw in cream, and want to get the red or green but I can’t decide!
- King of Christmas Rushmore Tree (different heights, mine is 9 foot)
- Potted pine trees
- Iced christmas trees potted
- Orange slice garland
This is the tree shown in the pictures of this post, and I just received it this past week. It’s just what I wanted, and I love it! These are some of the trees that I’m looking at–I love them both but trying to decide where to put them. I plan to make my own orange slice garland, but I found this one and saved it, just in case I need to buy one. They’re so cozy!
I love all the garlands! They’re so expensive that I’m buying a few each year, and adding to my collection bit by bit. The cedar wreath is planned for above my mantel, because it’s 28 inches, and I think it will fit well. I’ll add the ribbon, just like the picture!
