Wall Mounted Bathroom Sinks

All the details about our wall mounted farmhouse bathroom sinks, and how they add vintage charm to our cottage farmhouse.

Vintage Bathroom Wall Sink

From the beginning, I envisioned vintage-style wall mount sinks in our bathrooms. I’d clipped pictures of them for a long time, and it just fit exactly what I was envisioning for those spaces, and how they worked with the rest of the home. I couldn’t be any happier now that they’re in. They really bring the whole space together, and on the practical side, I love their large size!

If you’re looking for a vintage, cottage, or farmhouse look — these are absolutely perfection. I’m sharing all the details of the sinks and faucets–where to find them, and how they are to live with.

Laundry bath

This bathroom has a door that leads outside, and is right off of the laundry room. That played a huge part in my selections, especially the tiles and extra peg hooks for towels and dirty clothes. A wall sink is perfect in this space, as I don’t need a ton of storage with the laundry nearby. Eventually we may build something to go underneath it, but for now, I love it as it is!

I knew I wanted to do black or chrome hardware, and hadn’t quite decided yet, when I came across this sink. The hardware came with it, making my decision very easy!

As of this posting, the one I purchased is sold out, both on Amazon, and their site. But if you love it, keep watching–it could come back! This wall mount sink is another one that’s very similar, also on Amazon. At the end of the post I have the entire collection in our home, and a few other favorites that you can check out.

Guest Bath

Right off the main foyer, this is the bath that most of our guests use. It also has a shower, so overnight guests will use it as well. I wanted this sink to be a statement–a focal mount of the space, and both beautiful and functional.

I had planned for the hardware to be an antique brass, and found just the perfect thing. But then there was a bit of a crisis with the additional plumbing — the P trap and flange — and I couldn’t find what I was looking for that would match in the very short time frame I had. The builders gave me very little notice, and nothing I could find would arrive by the time the plumbers were coming.

So instead, I switched to black–once again, going back and forth between that and chrome, which I also have throughout the home. But I love the end result, and I’m really happy with it! I figured I could always switch to chrome if I wanted to change my mind later, but so far, so good! With the scripted “hot” and cold” text, and the white on the faucet knobs, it lends itself to exactly the vintage look I was going for.

This is a larger, 30-inch sink, and it fits really well in the space. Our cabinet company had originally designed it with a 30-inch cabinet, so I knew it would fit. What is so interesting is that a 30-inch cabinet looks on the smaller side, while a 30-inch sink fills the space! All I need in this room is a basket for guest towels, so the cabinet space wasn’t a must in here either.

FAQ

Do you miss having storage underneath a wall mount sink?

Yes and no. It is nice to have a cabinet to hide towels, toilet paper, and other essentials. However, these baths don’t require as much storage since they are guest spaces, and baskets do the trick. If this was a bath used regularly, I’d hang a cute fabric skirt to hide the underneath and add more storage there.

Are wall mount sinks more expensive than alternate options?

You can find wall mounted sinks at several different price points, starting in the 200s and moving all the way up to the thousands with cast iron sinks. I found them at a reasonable cost, and for less money than I would have spent buying cabinets and countertops instead. Even the all-in-one versions (cabinet, sink, faucet) are generally more expensive. These sinks are heavy-duty, high-quality, and sturdy–and the design is gorgeous.
