How to make

Cut the construction paper into strips. My paper was 8.5 x 11 , and I cut it lengthwise into 1.25 x 11 strips. The last strip wasn’t quite 1.25, but it was close enough to fit in and not notice too much. If you want them to be closer to exact, you can get 6 strips if you cut them around 1.4 inches. How many you cut is up to you, and how long you want your chain to be.

Fold the strips into half.

Make your first heart by taking a folded strip and bending it into shape, then stapling it together.

Take the next folded strip and place it at the bottom of the heart you just did, and staple it in place. The folded part is at the bottom of the heart, with the sides pointing up.

Take the two sides of the strip and pull them down into a heart shape, and staple into place.

Repeat this process until you have the chain length you like!

Hang your chain and enjoy! It really is such a fun & easy project–you’ll have the cutest decor for your home in 30 minutes or less!

FAQ

Can I use cardstock instead of construction paper?

Yes, you can use cardstock. It will be stiffer and not as pliable, and you’ll need to be more careful not to crease it when bending, but it will work!

Can I cut wider strips?

Absolutely–the width is up to you, and can give different looks to your chain.
