Hot Chocolate Gift Mug

A Hot Chocolate Gift Mug is an adorable and cozy holiday gift idea! Super quick and easy to put together for friends, coworkers, neighbors, and more.

Hot Chocolate Gift Mug

I absolutely love the holiday season, and giving gifts to all the people in my life. This is one of my favorite gifts to give to neighbors, teachers, coworkers, friends, bus drivers, hairstylists, and more. Hot chocolate is so cozy, and when you add a cute mug, it’s the perfect gift!

You can personalize it by changing the mug for the person you’re gifting it to. A fun idea for a grandparent is adding a photo on the mug.

My favorite is a white mug and really cute Christmas ribbon! I love this cute chalkboard tag, and it’s great for a thinner ribbon–so it will fit through the punched hole. I’ve also use a wide ribbon, which changes the presentation a bit. I adore red gingham so much, and the wire ribbon makes the perfect bow! I didn’t add a tag to this one, but you could a smaller twine to tie it around the top of the bag if you wanted to.

I use clear treat bags–the size that works well for me is 5×11, but if your mug is much larger or smaller, you may need to change the size accordingly. For the hot chocolate, you can use a mix that you buy in bulk. I usually get it from Sam’s Club or Costco, but you can also find it on Amazon. Another option is to make a big batch of homemade hot chocolate mix.

Once the bag is filled with hot chocolate, I always add a handful of mini marshmallows on top. I place the bag in the mug, then tie the ribbon. Then it can settle and adjust to the base of the mug and the ribbon. You can even tie a candy cane around the middle if the bow for an extra touch.
