Haunted Gingerbread Houses

One of our favorite Halloween traditions is making Haunted Gingerbread Houses, and we are now on our 9th year!  We love to invite friends over to join us, and make it a whole evening of fun–making houses, eating yummy food, and laughter around the campfire.  It’s such a fun way to celebrate Halloween with your whole family–the kids love it, and so do the adults!

One of the highlights of Haunted Gingerbread Houses is the candy, of course!  This year, Hershey was my go-to candy for the houses, and I LOVE all the different kids of Halloween candy they have.  They help families harness the magic of Halloween by sharing both new and classic treats that can transform any party–anywhere from the normal, to even the paranormal!

Aren’t they perfect?  Lots of different shapes and sizes in Halloween colors that are just right for our gingerbread houses.  And for sampling.  :) The Hershey seasonal favorites include chocolate variety bags that have a little something for everyone, Reese’s Peanut Butter Pumpkins, Kit Kat® Bars, and even Cadbury Screme Eggs!

My kids love decorating their houses, and it’s so fun to see the differences between them. Some are very careful and take their time cutting, frosting, and placing the candy just where they want it. Others are all about getting that candy on as fast as possible.  And I have a couple that eat one (or two), place one, eat one, place one…

It’s such a wonderful evening–we look forward to it all year. It’s fabulous fun for families!

Share and save for later!

What a fun and SPOOKY activity! You said in past posts, that you buy Gluten free candies. Are all of these candies gluten free? LOVE THIS IDEA!

I do buy mostly gluten-free candies, and many of these are. Hershey’s has a great list of gluten-free candy, which is awesome! And this is seriously one of our most favorite traditions—we love it! xoxo
