Valentine’s Day is a much-loved holiday at our house, and we enjoy many festivities. Our Valentine’s Day countdown has 14 simple, fun activities and recipes, including Pink Hot Chocolate, Layered Heart Brownies, Love Buckets, and more. Heart-shaped meals take center stage, and pizza is at the top of the list.

Easy is the name of the game here! We’ve made individual pizzas with several different types of crusts, including Pillsbury biscuits and English muffins. But this is our favorite by far! Plus, it’s so easy to cut into hearts that you don’t even need a cookie cutter. These are so fun, and great for a few or for a crowd. Perfect for any kind of Valentine’s party! And for the rest of the year, you can make these anytime–leave them as is or cut into a heart.

Ingredients

  • Mozzarella cheese
  • Pizza sauce
  • Toppings of choice
  • Fresh or dried parsley
  • Naan bread (mini or regular-sized)

We absolutely love using naan bread as the pizza crust. You can use the mini size or the regular size. When I’m making them for dinner, I usually use the mini size. For the hearts, I use regular size, because I’m cutting them down a bit of the heart shape. You can still cut the mini shape, but they will be pretty small. They’d be a great size for a toddler or young elementary age. Or if you wanted to make a bunch for tasting, the mini size would work well.

How to Make

Lay all of your ingredients out–sauce, cheese, and toppings. This is especially helpful if your guests are making their own pizzas.

Easy Heart Shaped Pizza

Using sharp kitchen scissors, cut the naan bread into a heart shape. Try to stay as close to the edge as possible, so you don’t lose much off the crust.

TIP: Save the pieces you trim off–add butter, sprinkle with cheese, and broil. Perfect cheesy breadsticks you can dip into sauce!

Add the sauce, cheese, and toppings.

Bake in a 375 degree preheated oven for 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melty and the crust is browned on the edges. Sprinkle with fresh parsley if desired.

Kids really love to help make their own pizza, and it’s really fun for adults too. This is great for your own family, for guests, and even a larger party! During the rest of the year, think game day, birthday parties, and more.

FAQ

Can I use a cookie cutter instead of scissors?

Certainly–they would work too. You’re just limited to the size of cutter you have, and the scissors let you cut whatever size of heart you’d like!
