White Kitchen Curtains Cottage

I loved my white linen kitchen curtains at Old Salt Farm, and wanted to do the same when we moved into Cottage on Blackberry Hill. In this house, the kitchen windows face the front of the house, so they’d serve a functional purpose as well as an aesthetic one. I just settled on a pair and got them hung a few days ago, so I thought I’d share them, along with a few other favorites I found along the way.

Cute curtains will add charm to your kitchen, and they still allow for most of the window to be clear for a view. If you need more privacy, and want blinds too, curtains can add the personality of your space to shine through. I considered several different patterns and fabrics, but in the end decided on a simple white pair with a little detail at the top. Whether you’re looking for white curtains, or something cottage-y with a pattern, this list is full of cottage charm!

White curtains

When choosing white curtains for the kitchen, I tend to choose a muslin or linen. I like the airiness and flowy feel of the fabric, as opposed to something thicker. The ones I chose are from Amazon, and very reasonable–just $25 for two panels (came in a set). What drew me to them was the extra detail at at the top, and I loved the simpleness. But the price was my major deciding factor–it couldn’t be beat! They are a soft fabric, and let the perfect amount of light in — privacy but still light filtering. I spent more for linen curtains at Old Salt Farm, but I just didn’t want to this time around. I’m so happy with them! I used a cream/white tension rod, and cream curtain rings for a cohesive look. Alternatively, you could choose a brass or black rod if you prefer, and it fits in your space.

Patterned curtains

My favorite patterns are gingham, the larger check, grain stripe, and ticking. Each of these exude cottage farmhouse style! I have a gingham check curtain in my pantry to cover up the grocery door, and I adore it. It’s right next to my kitchen window, or I would have seriously considered them!
