One of my girls is a book collector. We have plenty of bookshelves for all of the books, but she really wanted to keep her books in her room. The space isn’t super small, but the placement of the closet, window, and door make it so there isn’t much usable wall space for dressers and bookshelves. So I started looking for something that would combine the two, and work within the space. The result is super cute, with room for everything!
She is so happy! Literally, she was beaming ear to ear once we had it all set up and organized. We removed several items from her room, and replaced it with the shelving and baskets, which opened up the entire space and made it seem much bigger, all while giving her extra space. A win-win!

Bedroom Storage Ideas
The white cube shelving is by Better Homes & Gardens at Walmart, and I love it. I bought two of the 8-cube storage pieces, and put them side-by-side against the wall. (We got the white texture, which looks like whitewashed wood.) The baskets might be my favorite part though…they’re foldable!! We decided on eight spaces for books, and eight spaces for the baskets, which are serving as her dresser. It works perfectly!
The baskets are big enough to hold quite a bit of clothing, and fit everything she needs plus a couple for her art/sewing/craft supplies. She had so much stuff, and it all needed a place. The baskets offer a lovely aesthetic to the room as well, different from the fabric cube organizers (which I’ve also used), and perfect for the space.
A cozy (the coziest) rug and chair pillow fit in the corner, and has become her new favorite reading spot. I can’t believe how much this simple change made such a huge difference, and I’m wishing now I had taken a before picture so you could see it!
