Make these festive Reindeer Pretzels in no time! Just a few ingredients are all you need to make these adorable pretzel Christmas treats.

Reindeer Pretzels

Christmas baking is one of my favorite parts of the holiday, along with creating treat boxes to share with friends, family, and neighbors. Chocolate Peppermint Cookies, Snowball Cookies, and our favorite Easy No-Fail Fudge are just a few that are regularly on our list. I also love making easy treats that add an extra bit of Christmas festivity, including these darling Reindeer Pretzels. They’re so fun, and perfect for little helpers too! My kids really like to design their own.

Using just a few ingredients, you can have a whole collection of reindeer in no time! Set them out at a party, wrap up in large treat bags to give away, or place a couple inside a box of goodies to take to work, school, or to neignbors.

Supplies

You can also choose to make mini versions and use pretzel sticks instead of the larger rods.

Tip: If you don’t have melting chocolate, you can use chocolate chips. Add 1-2 teaspoons of coconut oil or shortening so that it will be smoother and easier to dip.

How to make

Over a double boiler or in the microwave, melt your chocolate, stirring until smooth. I use a makeshift double boiler, placing a glass bowl over a pot of boiling water. Use a bowl just big enough to settle comfortably, but make sure it doesn’t touch the water. To melt in the microwave, place your chocolate in a microwave-safe glass bowl. Cook in 30 second intervals, stirring in between. You don’t need a lot of chocolate to dip these, so I’d start with a lesser amount, depending on how many you plan to make. You can always melt more!

Lay out the pretzels, candy eyes, and desired sprinkles. I used some fun Christmas sprinkles and candy canes.

Take two pretzel rods and dip the into the chocolate, about 1/2 of the way up the pretzel. Shake off the extra chocolate, and place them directly next to each other on a piece of parchment paper or wax paper on a cookie sheet. Make sure they are pressed closely together. Place an M&M for the nose, and two candy eyes directly above it. Add whatever sprinkles or embellishments you like! You can also leave them plain if you prefer.

Place the cookie sheet in the fridge for 15 minutes for the chocolate to harden. Then you can take it out and wrap the pretzels as desired. Keep in an airtight container or bag for up to two weeks, or in the freezer up to 3 months.
