Hi! I saved an adorable Christmas word tree you had posted- but I can’t seem to find the post now :( I was curious if you could tell me what font you used to create it or where you got it from? I just love it! Hope you have a great day!

Thank you for the recipe for eggless ice cream. I have a son who is very allergic to uncooked eggs (He quickly becomes violently sick.) and sometimes I am afraid that I haven’t cooked them enough. I like your ideas. May you be blessed this day in an unexpected way. Thank you for sharing.

You are so welcome, Cher! xoxo

Why am I having such a hard time? When I am on your page and find something I want to share (ie the striped canvas art) on FB I cannot figure out how to share it on my fb page. I click the fb icon, but it just takes me to your fb page! Please tell me
simply {kierste} says
You know, Janelle, I’m not sure!! Let me see what I can figure out, and I’ll get back to you!
simply {kierste} says
I just tried it myself, and it didn’t take me to my FB page–it took me a to a “share this link” page, where I could select if I wanted it shared on my timeline or not. It doesn’t look like it’s the button on my blog–maybe something with your FB? So sorry I can’t help more!!!

Hi, I’m planning a wedding and remember you had a post about writing love letters to your husband and giving them to him to be opened at particular moments in life. Could you tell me when that was, I can’t seem to remember the details. Thanks.

That wasn’t me, but it’s a really great idea!!! :)

I seem to remember one of your posts about bulk groceries and some wooden shelves your husband made. I’m trying to stockpile groceries and came to your site to try to find your post, and I can’t find it now. Was it you that did the post I’m thinking about? I can still see the pictures of the 2×4 shelves with black beans on them…ha. Thanks!
Simply Kierste says
Good memory!! :) It was actually a post on chalkboard labels, and I labeled my food storage shelves. I don’t have many pictures of the shelves, and we don’t live in the house anymore, or I would send you some more!! https://oldsaltfarm.com/2012/03/labels.html

Hi Kierste, I was hoping to get your ideas on something. Your style is a lot like mine and I always love what you create so I wanted to see what you thought. I’m trying to decide on wall decor for my living room. I have 3 very tall windows on one wall. I have 2 long frames (15 x 27) that I want to use (1 between each window), but I can’t decide what to do with them. I’ve searched Pinterest, Google and, of course, your blog, but can’t seem to find anything that just “fits”. I’ve thought about favorite quotes, but was afraid that would be too “wordy” since I have an old wooden road sign above my center window and I have a big “Good Rules for All” sign on my mantel. I hope this isn’t too confusing, but I knew if anyone had any ideas I would love, it would be you. As always, love your blog (regular reader). Thanks!
Simply Kierste says
Hello there!! I LOVE windows so much. :) Okay–I’m just going to throw out a bunch of ideas and possibilities, and perhaps one will spark what you have in mind!
-make them into chalkboards
-hang boxwood wreaths on them
-instead of a quote, put a large monogram on one, and a large number (the amount of people in your family) on the other
-remove the glass from the frames, hang rows twine from side to side (attached on the back of the frame), and attach your favorite pictures with clothespins
I’ll keep thinking, but these are just a few that came to me right away. good luck!! Sounds like it’s going to be fabulous!!!
Thank you SO much for reading! xoxo

I don’t have a template to share or sell, I’m sorry! If you do a search on etsy.com, there are quite a few different shops that have round business cards–I would definitely check there. Good luck!!!

I realize it is a post from 2011, but I am trying to make the BOO beadboard sign. When I click on the link to print the background it takes me to the Scribd site. Is that what you intended? They charge for downloading..
Simply Kierste says
Jody, sorry about that! Back in 2011, I didn’t have another way to share files, and scribd.com didn’t charge. Things have changed! I changed the original post and added a link to a jpg file you can download directly!!

I’m having trouble following your directions. After you make the first bow, how do you go around the knot and create the second bow? There’s no way to anchor it and tighten it to make it look right. Just doesn’t make sense to me. Thanks.

Hi, Debnie! I’m happy to help, but what are you referring to?

Hi Kierste! Your new home is so beautiful! Definitely worth the wait! Congrats!
So, I have finally decided to purchase a Silhouette Cameo after years of contemplation. I know that I will use it for my art classes and at home and wonder how I ever got by without it. Here is my question…do you have a suggestion as to where to buy one for the best price? I know they quite often participate in Black Friday sales but I’m hoping to get one ASAP. They come in so many bundle options and thought you might have a recommendation. Thanks!
Simply Kierste Design Co. says
Thank you so much, Mary! And I’m so excited that you’re getting a Cameo, hooray! I know you’re going to love it! The best prices I’ve ever seen have been during Black Friday, but if you want one sooner, I would check Amazon.
The lowest price I saw on there was $235, which is a really great price because it also comes with additional items, priced as a beginner’s bundle. If you bought them separately, it would be a lot more. It’s only worth it though, if you would use those items. If you would, bundles are a great option. It has free shipping right now too! http://amzn.to/2z6F1S4 (affiliate)
You can get just the machine for $187 here: https://www.hsn.com/products/silhouette-cameo-3-cutting-machine/8221036
Here’s a google search I did, and you may want to scan through here for prices and bundles…there might be just what you’re looking for! https://www.google.com/search?q=silhouette+cameo+purchase&source=lnms&tbm=shop&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwi1iKCvqPDWAhUJWCYKHdXMCo0Q_AUICigB&biw=1280&bih=567
Good luck!! xoxo

Love your website and cute ideas. Would love to make your Cinnamon Ornaments. I was able to get the recipe from your post. It states that I can watch a video for more details. I have looked & looked (sifted through all the junk ads) and I can not find the video. Perhaps did your forget to include the link? Could you sent me the link for the video. Thanks.
Simply Kierste Design Co. says
Hi, Marijane! The video is right in the post–there isn’t a link–you just need to push play. It’s directly above the recipe!

Hi Kierste! I just came across your tutorial DIY kitchen benches and fell in LOVE with your kitchen island. I see from the comments in the benches tutorial that you offered to share some basic instructions for the kitchen island build with other posters. If possible, I would love to have more information on the island construction, as we are looking to build something similar to provide seating and functional workspace in our small kitchen.
Looking forward to following and exploring your blog more in the future! I have already found so many great ideas!
Thanks!
