A Cozy Christmas: Farmhouse home tour

Our cozy Christmas…a farmhouse home tour featuring simple farmhouse Christmas decor.

It’s already the 17th of December! I can’t believe how quickly this month has gone by, and did November even happen? We’ve been so busy at our house that this is the first chance I’ve had to post our Christmas home tour. I use the same decor every year, but I usually add in a few more pieces, and switch things around a bit. There are some spaces that I like so much, I leave them the same from year to year. And I like to keep things on a budget, so reusing most of my decor is a way to do that. A minimalist at heart, just a few touches in each room is my go-to for any season.

As always, simple + cozy is my goal. A cozy fire, plenty of blankets and pillows, green trees and wreaths, cream cable knit, and a sprinkle of red gingham are my favorites, and you’ll find them throughout the house.

I found these trees last year, and they’re perfect for the kitchen table. I’m in love with the red grain stripe table runner–sometimes I keep it straight, but I also love it bunched up like this!

I usually tie boxwood wreaths on my chairs, but this time I used faux wreaths with red berries that I found. I really love them! They’re a bit bigger, but and the pop of red is really fun.

More trees in a vintage crate on the island, a wreath above the sink, and a few other touches of green were my focus in the kitchen.

A sign and wreath above the sink, red & cream dishtowels, and small green trees add Christmas to the kitchen!

The bench in the mudroom is perfect for pillows and another green tree, and a wreath on the door adds even more greenery to the space.

I always love decorating the library, and I don’t change it up too much from year to year. Our Balsam Hill frosted tree always goes in this room, because I think it goes so well with all of the white. A few extra smaller trees, Christmas pillows, and red plaid throw complete the decor, along with a sign above the chalkboard.

Right across the foyer is the piano room, and I love to add trees on each side of the piano. Super simple, but perfect for this space.

I love having a tree in our master bedroom, and this year we went with a real tree after the artificial one died last year. My kids really wanted to choose one for me, and they did…also naming it Sherman. Apparently it needed a name! It’s much wider and rounder than I’m used to in this space, but I really have loved it. There isn’t much cozier than falling asleep to Christmas lights!

We also cut down the tree that’s in our family room, which we do every year, and it’s a favorite family tradition. I love every one we bring home for different reasons, and this year was the same. They each have their own personalities and charm!

The coziest spot in the house!

I usually decorate the porch with trees and garland, but this year we had so many days of high winds and storms that I ended up bringing the trees indoors and setting them next to the front door in the foyer. However…that was after I already took this picture! But I liked it so much, I think I’ll get a couple more so I can have them both in and out next year.

A wintry white barn is always my favorite. Simply greenery is the best decor!

    1. They’re from McGee and Co., which are sadly sold out from a couple of years ago. :( But I’d check Target, and even Amazon–I think I’ve seen some potted Christmas trees there–possibly even Walmart.
