A Cottage Christmas: Decor for Home

This is our first Christmas at Cottage on Blackberry Hill, and I’m so excited to decorate! I’m using most of the decor I already have, but purchased a few new things to add even more of a cottage-y, vintage look. Muted and antique golds, gingham, plaids, and toile patterns, vintage prints, lots of bows, and really great greenery are featured. I own many of these items, and others are on my wish list! You can find almost all of these items at Amazon, Target, or Walmart, with a couple of exceptions, so they’re easy to find, and reasonably priced.

Greenery is always the star of the show! I love both of the garlands, and they are a very reasonable price. They can get so expensive! Especially if you want to get multiples in order to layer them on a mantel or staircase. I like to layer the Norfolk and Cedar together for a full look, but I also like them separate too.
Add bells to your mantel, doorway, shelf, doorknob–so many fun places you can use them. I’m completely obsessed with gingham (this goes back 30 years!), and I’m always happier when I have a bit in my decor. It’s perfectly cottage! Other great textures and patterns are linen, plaids, grain stripe, and ticking. Layer them in pillows, table runners, and stockings.
For metals I tend to like antique or muted brass best, but also iron black if I find something that speaks to me. Etsy is a great place to find vintage Christmas prints – either digital prints that you can frame on your own, or some already framed and ready to go.
In your kitchen, add some vintage-style dishes to dress up your table. I like to scour facebook marketplace for actual vintage pieces, but there are some great “new” options that
