7 favorite bloggers share their TOP POSTS of 2015!
What a year! 2015 was very different than I expected it to be. I thought we would be in our house by now, but due to unforeseen circumstances well outside of our control, instead we are still very cozy in our little temporary apartment. So much has happened to our family over the last twelve months, and while things have been really hard at times, I’ve come into 2016 feeling very grateful for all of the things that we do have. And…come summer of this year, Old Salt Farm will finally be built!
2015 was also a very different year for me when it came to blogging. Because I wasn’t in a home that we could decorate in any way, and because all of our things were (and still are) in storage, so many projects and ideas have been placed on the back burner, and I’m REALLY looking forward to tackling them in 2016. I’ve missed that part of me–and I’ll be so glad to have it back. That said, I was able to to try new projects this year that I might not have otherwise, and I learned to be more creative with the things I had around me.
I also wanted to thank each one of you for your support, and for reading! I just love all the comments, emails and reaching out on social media as well. It means a lot, and I’m so grateful. Simply Kierste wouldn’t be in existence without each one of you!!!
To celebrate the end of the year, I’m so excited to present not only my top posts of 2015, but also the top posts of six other fabulous bloggers!
SIMPLY KIERSTE: Vintage Lemonade Stand with Reversible Chalkboard Sign
I just love lemonade stands! They are perfect for outdoor entertaining, because they’re not only functional, but adorable too. I decided that I wanted a sign that I could use for any function, party, theme, or holiday, so I created a reversible chalkboard sign that allows me to write whatever I want on it! The other side does say “Lemonade Stand”, so I have the option of that too. It’s seriously one of my favorite things!

I LOVE this summer car kit, and used it nearly every time I went somewhere this whole summer. Now it’s into the winter, and I’m still using it! I love having everything I need in the back of my truck, just in case!
A Piano Makeover: Painting & Adding Planks
Afters years of indecision, I FINALLY painted my piano. I’ve been wanting to do it forever, but I admit it, it made me nervous, which says a lot, because I paint everything! I’m so, so happy I bit the bullet and went for it–it makes such a huge difference, and I’m totally in love. I also added wood planks the the bottom front of the piano, which gave it more of a farmhouse look, and fit my style and decor much better. LOVE!
I was on a mission this summer to add some fun things to our backyard, and the tetherball set was just the right thing! Our whole family loves it, and it’s pretty popular with everyone!
We always have a ton of scrap wood, and I decided to turn a bunch of it into outdoor wooden blocks for my kids to play with. They have been played with almost constantly since I made them, and they literally cost almost nothing!
Farmhouse Style Wood Fall Signs
These wood signs are super easy AND super cute!!!
Oh, how I love stripes. And mason jars. This is a match made in heaven! I made this one for Halloween, but you can use any colors you like!
I cannot tell you how many times we’ve made this bread over the last few months. It’s a lot. My kids beg for it on a regular basis! I love how easy it is to make, and how delicious it is to eat!
Here’s to 2016!!
