Taking time for YOU!
I’ve always been a believer that in order to take care of other people in your life, you need to spend a little time taking care of yourself too. In this busy life, with family, kids, work, and everything else we’re involved in, we give most of ourselves to others, which is a wonderful thing. But it’s important not to forget that you need attention as well–when you’re cup isn’t full, you just don’t have as much to give to someone else. I know…that’s hard to do! With six kids and many other responsibilities, I often feel like I just don’t have the extra time to spare, but when I set aside some time for myself, it’s amazing what the result is. More energy…more me!

There is a list of things that I love to do to take time for me, depending on what my schedule is, and how much time I have. I always make to exercise–there are so many benefits both physically and mentally, that it’s always at the top of my list.
But sometimes all a girl needs is a few minutes alone–a little chocolate, a long bath, and a room that not only smells amazing, but soothes and relaxes too.
In my bathroom I keep a few essentials…bath salts, cozy towels, and a yummy smelling candle. In just 30 minutes (or less), I can feel refreshed and energized, or relaxed and ready for bed.
I love the new aromatherapy candles by Better Homes & Gardens–they add a little ambiance, and infuse the room with a soothing scent.
In addition to the candles, Better Homes & Gardens now has a whole line of aromatherapy products, including an oil diffuser and essential oils. There are so many lovely scent options, including peppermint, lemon, lavendar, and sweet orange & spearmint.
Just turning on the diffuser and letting the aroma waft through your bedroom or home can provide a calming effect.
Taking time for me sometimes means 5 minutes, and sometimes it means 30 minutes, but no matter how much time I have, it makes such a difference!
You can find the new line of Better Homes & Gardens Aromatherapy products in Walmart stores now.
