Hello! I am so happy to be here today. Kierste is one of my favorite people. She is someone that I wished lived closer to me so we could hang out all the time. Isn’t her farmhouse the most beautiful house in the most beautiful setting?
Let me introduce myself a little bit and then I’ll give you a peek at some of my favorite projects I have done.
I’m Stacy Risenmay and I have been blogging for about 7 years. I’m a mom to four boys ranging from second grade to high school and the wife of a very patient man. My boys are loud, stinky, and messy, but I love them! A couple years ago I decided I didn’t have enough of that in my life so we adopted a dog. Wipe-able surfaces (like wood floors, tile and leather sofas) and air freshers are my best friends. I love to DIY. It is a stress reliever. I love to garden. It’s my therapy. If I am covered in dirt, paint, or sawdust I am a happy woman. I hope that I am passing my love of DIY onto my boys.
We love the outdoors!
We live in a 1938 brick home that may seem small to some but fits us just right. We have had fun fixing it up and making it our own over the years. My favorite part of our home is the rounded front door.
Our family room is one of my favorite spots. It has so many big windows that it is sunny no matter the time of day.
It’s actually getting a mini makeover soon. Our couch has had holes for a few years that we keep hidden with the use of throw blankets and pillows. The rug has lived through the potty training years of our pup and has been shampooed one too many times. I also broke one of the lights with my tripod. So a few changes were in order. You’ll have to follow along so you can see the update!
I laid new marble floors, built a vanity, built some floating shelves, and made a sliding round vanity mirror. Yep, the mirror SLIDES! You have to check it out.
I feel like bathrooms and nooks are great places to add wallpaper.
I just finished redecorating bedrooms for my boys. I joke that I have two city mice and two country mice since two love music and wanted a modern feel to their space and the other two love the mountains and nature.
The mountain room was the latest project I have completed.
The L shaped bed has been so fun for the boys since they have storage and a fort under their bed. I have a tutorial on how I built it. It was easy!
Like I said, I am just as happy outside in the yard as I am inside. We have chickens and an adorable coop, a large vegetable garden, a new patio, and a secret garden!
Thank you for letting me hijack Kierste’s blog for the day. I hope you will hop over and check out my site. Not only do I love room makeovers and big outdoor projects, but I have lots and lots of smaller DIY projects. My favorite part of blogging is connecting with people who also love home decor and DIY. I hope you reach out and say “hi!”.
