Vintage Style Shabby Chic Girl’s Bedroom
One of my favorite rooms in our home is my youngest daughter’s room. It’s a vintage shabby chic style–done in whites, creams, light pink, and floral. I just love it, not only for the style, but for the simplicity. It’s perfect for her, and I’m excited to share all the details about how it came together!
SIMPLE SHABBY CHIC STYLE
I tend to be rather a minimalist when it comes to design. I prefer a few decor items that I love, and work well in the space, choosing to let those items shine–and really being able to focus on them. In this room, I chose to feature the iron bed and darling shabby chic bedding, and the distressed dresser. A simple white pitcher with pink flowers, white lamp, and basket of books were the perfect accessories that tied it all together. I made the alphabet signs to go over the bed, and I absolutely love them in this room–I think they tie it all together!

Here are the items I used in this room:
I fell in love with this bed when I saw it…it’s feminine, and is the perfect vintage and shabby chic base to the whole space.
This is the most recent update in this room, and I adore this bedding. I had been on the lookout for awhile for just the right thing, and when I saw this, I knew. I love the floral, and the shams It’s perfect for the shabby chic look I was going for. The shams have a lovely crochet trim that is seriously perfect. I bought the pink ticking quilt that’s at the bottom of the bed at Pottery Barn Kids years ago, and I love what it adds to the space.
I made these for the room soon after we moved in, and I still adore them. (You can also see the previous bedding…)
- Distressed & Numbered Dresser
I found this dresser at the Habitat ReStore before we moved in, and I was thrilled to find it. It was only $50, and I fell in love immediately. It’s old–and I adore the keyhole in the top large drawer. It adds to the vintage look, because it is vintage!! I painted and distressed it, then added the numbers.
This white vase from IKEA is one of my favorites…I have three or four of them around the house! I also found darling pink ranunculus there as well, and they bring out the pink of the bedding.
A cute wire basket of books just had to go on the dresser. I keep my favorite set of classic board books in there, and my daughter not only loves to read them, but they look so cute!
Hands down, these are my favorite board books! The collection includes so many classics, including Pride & Prejudice, Emma, Moby Dick, Treasure Island, Sherlock Holmes, Anne of Green Gables, Jungle Book, and more. I LOVE LOVE them!! They come in the form of primers–colors, counting, opposites, etc. They’re perfect for any nursery, library, or child’s room.
I’m so happy with the vintage shabby chic bedroom, and my little girl is too!
