Lunchtime is one of my favorite times of day. I feed my kids, and then take a few minutes for myself before starting again on never-ending list of things to do. It’s my little breather during the day–halftime, if you will! It’s my way of re-grouping, and a delicious lunch is part of it. I’m always on the lookout for yummy, easy, and healthy lunch ideas to enjoy during this time, and I’ve recently discovered something FABULOUS I want to share with you..Sargento Tastings!
Sargento Tastings are a new product from Sargento–a line of specialty cheese snacks that open up the world of cheeses, from a brand you know and trust. I was so excited to be able to taste all eight flavors, including my favorites–Bruschetta Jack, Fiesta Pepper Jack, Cream Haverti and Parmentino. I honestly couldn’t believe the price–at around $2.69 for between 3.25 and 3.95 ounces, it’s a fantastic price for a product that tastes much more expensive. It was SO fun to be able to try them all, and pair them with some of my favorite nuts, fruit, and breads. I’m excited to share with you some of my favorites!
I LOVE any kind of Jack cheese, and I have to tell you, Sargento has hit it out of the park! Can I tell you about the Bruschetta Jack? It has the perfect balance of garlic, basil, parsley, and sun-dried tomato melded into the rich and savory Monterey Jack cheese. HOLY MOLY, it’s so yummy! I layered it with fresh basil and tomato on top of crusty piece of bread and broiled it in the oven for a few minutes…absolute perfection. Definitely my kind of lunch. ☺ I took the Fiesta Pepper Jack, broiled it on the same crusty bread, then added some cilantro on top, and it was also amazing. These would both be perfect for entertaining–fast and easy to make, and oh, so delicious!
Snack time is important around this house. ☺ As a mom, I like to give my kids nutritious snacks that they’re going to love, and will get them through to the next meal.  I paired the Aged Vermont White Cheddar and Aged Wisconsin Cheddar with a sliced Granny Smith apple and handful of almonds, and it was as delicious as it was filling. It felt like a total indulgence to me, but healthy for our whole family. My kids loved it!
Another favorite pairing was the Creamy Havarti with multi-grain crackers and a handful of grapes. The Havarti is extremely creamy and luxurious, and just kind of melts in your mouth. A perfect snack, lunch, or also appetizer!
Sargento Tastings will definitely be on my shopping list from now on. From lunch, to snacktime, to appetizers for a party, they can be perfectly paired with nuts, fruit, crackers, or crusty bread for an everyday indulgence!
