This peanut butter fudge is delicious, and one of the easiest fudge recipes I’ve tried. I like to cut it into squares, then wrap it in wax paper, twisting the ends. It makes for a darling presentation, and it opens up more possibilities for wrapping.
The clear plastic lid is perfect–it fits snugly into the container, with a lip that makes it easy to slide a piece of cute scrapbook paper underneath it, and the outside is perfect for a quick coat of spray paint. Here’s how I turned an everyday container into an adorable gift!
ITEMS YOU NEED:
- empty cornmeal container
- spray paint
- scrapbook paper
- coordinating cardstock
- distress ink
- ribbon
DIRECTIONS:
1. Remove the lid and set aside. Spray paint the container with your choice of color. It goes on so easily, I love it! Let dry completely.
2. Trace the lid onto the back side of the scrapbook paper you want for the top lid. Cut it out, then slide it under the plastic lip of the lid. It doesn’t need any adhesive, but you can use double stick tape to secure it if you feel better about it. :)
3. Create a tag using the scrapbook paper and cardstock. I stamped mine with our monogram, using the PSA essentials stamp, then cut it out with a 2 inch circle punch (one of my most favorite crafting items ever). I distressed all the edges, and tied it on with a 1.5 inch brown grosgrain ribbon.
Now you’re ready to fill it with any number of delicious treats!
Now’s the time to start saving those containers–cornmeal, oatmeal, Crystal Light, Laughing Cow cheese, and any others you love the shape of that have a great lid. Cornmeal is cheap–around $1, so I wouldn’t blame you if you went and bought some just so you could make these. :)
