{happy father’s day: extreme six-layer bars}

In honor of Father’s Day, I’m sharing my hubby’s favorite treat, and his request for today.  I call them {Extreme Six-Layer Bars}, because I took my regular recipe, double pretty much everything, but put them in the same size pan.  This means they turn out extra gooey and thick, chock full of chocolate chips, butterscotch chips, and nuts.  The reason they’re six-layer, and not the traditional seven?  No coconut at this house!  (You could always add it in if you like it…)

{Ingredients}

2 c. graham cracker crumbs (it’s good with crushed corn flakes, too)
1/2 c. butter, melted
2 cans sweetened condensed milk
1 package chocolate chips
1 package butterscotch chips
1 c. chopped pecans
In a 9×13 baking dish that’s been sprayed with cooking spray,  mix the graham crackers crumbs and melted butter together.  Pour the cans of condensed milk evenly over the top, the sprinkle the chocolate chips, butterscotch chips, and nuts (in that order, lol) over it.  Bake in a preheated 350 degree oven for 30-35 minutes, or until lightly brown, and the middle is set.  Let cool completely before cutting into bars.  If you can wait that long.  (We can’t.  ☺)
…..
On a personal note…
To a husband who stays up late to finish the kitchen table that I really want, even though he has to get up early for a flight the next morning, and to the father who gets excited about ballgames, tea parties, and everything in between…

To a dad that sleeps in the hall so he can hear my brand new twin babies cry before I do, so I can get some extra sleep, and to a grandpa who ties a wagon to a bike trailer that’s attached to a bike so he can take my four littles to the park every day…

you are amazing, and we all love you!  How lucky we are!  ♥
{HAPPY FATHER’S DAY!!!}
