I just love reading about people’s favorite things–not only is it interesting, it can also give some great ideas on products I just might like to try. Since it’s officially the holiday season, I thought it would be fun to share my own collection of favorite things…2015! (affiliate links included)
I think if there is one thing that I used the very most this year, it was Amazon Prime. For a long time I didn’t do it–wasn’t sure about the cost, if I would use it, lol. A couple of years ago I decided to just try it for one year, and see what happened. Well, let’s just say, I will never go back to not having it! I buy EVERYTHING on Amazon, lol. Okay, not everything, but a lot. Household stuff, pantry items, electronics, clothes, books–I always search there first. Our poor UPS guy–we are now on a first name basis. :) A prime membership gives you free 2-day shipping on all prime products (they are clearly marked), no matter HOW BIG the item is, plus a bunch of other benefits like exclusive access to tv shows and movies, kindle books, and unlimited photo storage. Last Christmas I bought almost 95% of our Christmas gifts on Amazon–they were purchased within 20 minutes (after I did research and made a list), and arrived within 2 days. It was heaven. I could probably go on and on for quite awhile, but I love it. A lot. Totally and absolutely worth every penny. I know that I would have spent way more than the $99 membership fee on shipping. It also makes an awesome gift!!
This is another one of those things where I wasn’t sure how much I would use it, but when one of my girls was diagnosed with celiac disease, making gluten-free bread would be a whole lot easier with it, so I decided to go for it. I’ve never looked back since. I use my lovely mixer for much more than bread, and with a bunch of kids at our house, I got the 6-quart professional because it could handle the most mashed potatoes. :)
I love my camera bag so much that I end up using it as a purse too! It makes it so easy to carry my camera, any lenses that I need, my wallet, business cards, keys, and even my Macbook! (I have the Jo Totes Missy, in Mint) I’ve used it as a travel bag when I fly, for road trips, and for about a million other reasons. LOVE it!
I just love a crisp, clean look in the kitchen, and I adore the blue & white striped large cotton dishtowels from Indigo Trader. They are a generous 24 inches square, and my absolute favorite! I also like the red and white stripes a lot–there are different color combos for any kitchen and preference!
This lotion is SO yummy. I love love love it! The smell isn’t overpowering, but just the perfect amount of scent. Made with shea butter, it’s super moisturizing. I carry it in my purse, and have it in my bathroom and bedroom. You can find it at World Market!
I can’t tell you how many times I use this! It comes in handy for so many things–school and church projects, crafting, organization–the list goes on and on. It’s so nice to have one at home, and not have to run out to the store to get something laminated. This is the one I have, and I’ve had it forever. It works great, and I LOVE LOVE it!
Another World Market favorite! This is my go-to cake stand, and it works for every holiday, every party, and every cake! :) I adore the scallops, don’t you?
You guys. I am totally obsessed with paper straws. I am not going to tell you how many I have. I actually don’t even know, because I’m kind of afraid to count. But I will tell you that I have them in pretty much every color, and for every holiday. If there is a zombie apocalypse, and there are no paper straws left in the world, you can all come to my house and I will share. They’re just one of those things that when I see them in the store, I can’t help but buy them! I use them for so many things–every party or gathering, and even in a lot of my crafting and food projects. They’re just cute!
Oh, how I love boxwood wreaths! I could have them in every room of the house. I like them hanging from windows, old doors, metal-framed beds, chalkboards, closet or pantry doors in the kitchen…the list goes on!
As a runner, I really love my Garmin Forerunner. It tracks my distance, time, pace, and calories, and it’s easy to wear and use. It’s not just for running though–it also has an daily activity tracker that records number of steps, calories, and distance throughout each day. This works for both my running and daily activity, and it’s most definitely one of my favorite things!
Are you on Instagram? You have to check on Chatbooks. It’s a really inexpensive and EASY way to capture all of your favorite moments that you’ve posted. All you have to do is subscribe, and when you reach 60 pictures, it automatically compiles them into darling square book and sends it to you for a mere $6-$8. They’ve also come out with a new hardcover option that I am so excited about. I’ve been doing this for awhile now, and we’ve got a stack of nearly 20 books chock full of all our family moments–both big and small. My kids sit down and look through them for hours, and it’s one of my favorite things ever. I do have a family blog that I keep up regularly, and get printed, but I still love having Chatbooks. If you are interested in subscribing, I have a code for you to get your first book free! Just use: 2W4V69EC
I can’t believe this is the first time I’ve made a list of my favorite things, but I loved compiling it so much and sharing it with you, that I think it needs to be an annual list. I’d love to hear about your favorite things too!
