Chalkboard Back to School Countdown Printable {FREE!}

Back to School time has been one of my favorite times of year since I was small.  The smell of new clothes, new pencils all sharpened and lined up in a pencil box, a backpack hung up and ready to go, all the wondering about the new teacher and all the kids in class–all of these things still make me excited!  Just the sight of all of the school supplies on the store shelves makes me happy. My kids are already picking out their new backpacks, and imagining what their new school in New York will be like.  So…as we are enjoying every last bit of the summer, we are also counting down to the start of SCHOOL! To help us, I created a fun Chalkboard Back to School Countdown!

You have some options for both printing and counting down. You can either print it at home on white cardstock (although it will use a lot of ink), or upload the .jpg file to a photo center and print it as an 8×10 or 11×14 photo–which is what I did.

Once it was printed, I decided to use washi tape to mark off the days, and put it up on my mantel in the clipboard I use for all of my subway art.  You could also slide it into a frame and use a chalkboard marker to mark off the days.  Or…anything you like!

    This is so cute…Perfect to start counting down to my daughter’s first day of Kindergarten. Is there a way to get one with less days to countdown? We start back to school August 4th! Just two weeks from Monday…Love this!

      Hi Brandy! We are getting ready to move this week, so I don’t know if I will have time to make with with 14 days, but you could always cross off half of them first, and then do the rest of them for the countdown!!! xo

      Sure!! I made these a few years ago to use as frames, but I also use them as fun clipboards!

      here’s the link to how I made them: https://oldsaltfarm.com/2011/11/faux-frames.html

      here’s a link to a post that shows them being used as a clipboard: https://oldsaltfarm.com/2013/09/fall-chalkboard-printable.html
