SNAP 2014 & and My NEW Blogger Business Cards!

Guess where I’m headed tomorrow???  My VERY FIRST blog conference!  Wahoooo!!

I’ve been blogging for a long time, but it’s just never been in the cards for me to attend a conference. I was pregnant with my twin boys when I started blogging, and my twin girls were only two years old. Since then, I’ve had my boys (who are now four years old), another baby, moved cross country, plus a few other things that have put traveling to the backburner for awhile.  But…it’s finally time!  My hubby was able to make it work with his schedule, and I’m bringing my baby to Utah with me so she can be spoiled rotten spend time with my parents while I’m there.

I’m totally thrilled to be able to meet in real life so many bloggers that I’ve “known” for a long time, meeting those that I haven’t had the pleasure of knowing, and being around a whole group of people that do what I do.  I’m looking forward to listening, learning, chatting, laughing, dancing, networking, and pretty much soaking up everything I can.  I get to room with the fabulous Mariel, from Or So She Says, who also has six children, and I can’t wait to meet her and swap stories. With twelve kids between us, I’m sure we’ll have plenty. ☺

I really needed new blogger business cards to take with me, so I got busy designing a couple of months ago, and they just arrived this past week!

LOVE the round shape, and the cute little round tin?  Sigh.

I also have my hole punch and book ring ready for all the blogger cards I’ll be receiving…perfect for keeping all of them together and keeping them organized.

I printed my card design onto white sticker paper to make a darling label for my notebook…I’m ready to take lots of notes!!

I’m kind of like a crazy person today–laundry, lists for my hubby, packing, shopping for last minute items, getting all the things together for the baby, and trying to get things settled to leave. I’m also trying on every single piece of clothing in my closet to decide what might make me look like I’ve lost those last 15 pounds of baby weight that haven’t come off yet. Ha! No luck so far, but if I find anything that works, I’ll let you know.  I did manage to get my hair highlighted last week, since I was to the point of desperation, and I told her that I wanted to go lighter for the summer. Well..she really took me at my word, and my mother might not recognize me.  ☺ I’m counting down the hours…

Ready or not, here I come!

If you’re headed to SNAP too, PLEASE find me! I would really love to meet you!

    1. I will definitely give an update on how it went. I wish you were going to! We’re going to have to figure out how to meet one day!

  1. If you find something to disguise the baby weight make sure to post about it. I’m in the same position!

  2. Your business cards are adorable and I LOVE the tin. Where did you get them printed? Have fun at SNAP. I hope I can go next year.

    1. Thank you so much! I designed them, then uploaded them to uprinting.com to print. They did a great job, and I think the paper quality is really good. They weren’t the cheapest, but not the most expensive, either.

  3. Your new cards are lovely! I commented on them on an instagram post. Will you be sharing how you created them in a blog post? I’ve been needing some cards for my Etsy shop. Enjoy your break & conference.

  4. Love your business cards! They are so fun!! Have an awesome time at Snap! Can’t wait to hear all about it :)

  5. Have so much fun! I wish I could go to a crafting conference, but tonight I get to go to Pinterest!!!!!
I’ve been invited to the headquarters for the unveiling of some new features and a reception!
    I’m going to Pinterest!!!!

  6. Hi Kierste! Where did you order your business cards from? I’m almost finished with college (less than a month to go) and I was wondering f you have any advice for me in how to land my first graphic design job?

    1. Hello! Congrats on graduation, that’s so exciting! I use Vistaprint to print my cards, and I really like them. As far as landing a job, I would try Linkedin, and I would also search Facebook for blogger groups that are accepting new members. Many of them hire designers, and it’s a good place to work on a portfolio. There is a pretty good demand for designers in the blogging world–creating website design, logos, headers, etc. You may also want to try publishing companies–smaller ones at first, possibly. Good luck!

  7. Hello! Love your cards! They are so amazing! I love the font you used with “simply” Can I ask what font it is?

  8. I really love your new business cards! I like their unique shape but also the balance between being friendly/informal and I’m-serious-about-my-job.

    I wonder what’s their diameter?
