And so it begins.

I was doing my calendaring for the week, and realized that our summer is quickly coming to a close, and that the craziness and busy-ness of school and fall are upon us. Even though we have a few weeks before school starts,  I have several kids playing soccer, and the season is in full swing starting this week.  It means 4-5 times a week of being out of the house in the evening, and limited time to make and serve dinner.  I know I will need to rely on my crockpot a lot, so I can serve yummy, healthy dinners to my family without spending a lot of time in the kitchen.

I gathered some of the most mouthwatering, family-friendly (or anyone friendly) slow cooker recipes I could find, and you can bet they will be on my menu starting…now!  Everything from fajitas to one-pot chicken dinners is on this list, and I hope they’ll help you with your busy schedules too!

When I do roundups, I rarely do more than 20 items–usually around 10 to 15–and that’s based on my own personal preference. I’m too impatient to look at posts with more than that, so that’s what I do. :)  If I try 1-2 recipes a week, these will last me two months!

I also thought I would share my favorite crockpot –the kind I’ve had for a long time and love!! It’s programmable, which is huge for me, and it is a great size.  I love love it!

Cream Cheese Chicken Taquitos, Le Creme De La Crumb

Okay, anything with cream cheese is worth trying. :)

  1. Thanks for this!!!! I’m a huge fan of my crockpot and it is one kitchen essential I MUST have. I’m a stay at home mom and only have 2 kids, but with everything else going on it is a huge time saver to have a hot, tummy-filling supper all ready to go. I’m a regular reader of your blog and love all your crafts, DIY and recipes. I have a lot of the same tastes (I love Farmhouse/country decor) and your is a ready source of ideas and new recipes to try. Looking forward to see what you do with your new house.
