{15 ways to accent simple gift wrap} with chalkboard blue

Hi!  It’s Michelle again from Chalkboardblue.  I’m excited to be sharing some ideas with Simple Kierste readers!
Today I wanted to share with you some fun and different ways you can accent simple gift wrap this Holiday Season!
When I set out to do this post, I challenged myself to use items that I would find around my house that would be fun accents to a gift.  I did buy some things, but for the most part I was able to stick to my plan.  I like to think a little outside the box when I do things. Accent items in a different way.  So here are some ideas of what I came up with…

Embroidery Hoop and Pennants…

I like Kraft wrapping, you can do so many different things with it… A little bit of burlap and Ribbon cut into triangles.

Berry Picks made into a wreath.  I made this little wreath, but candle stick wreaths would work too! Joy cut out of Vinyl and placed on a card envelope.
This features a Wood Buttons ornament.  I cut NOEL out of vinyl and placed on a small sack to accent.
is always fun!  Vinyl cut into chevron stripes and placed on the package.  Christmas Subway art printed onto a tag.  A vinyl 25 cut and placed on an envelope.  Nylon cord to pull it all together…
To Give a Rustic Feel… A piece of Barn wood, a Card Catalog File Card with Merry Christmas printed on it.  The card is actually nailed to the piece of Barn wood.  Accented with some Mistletoe berries…
I really liked this one, I felt it was just so different and fun! You could hand write the recipients name on the card…
Merry Christmas in Vinyl placed right on the package…
For a more Whimsy feel, a small sack with some washi tape.  I found some tape with numbers.  I circled the 25 to represent Christmas. Taped a striped straw to the top and added a fun pennant.

A log slice with Peace cut out of vinyl and placed on it.  Some pine cones and small bough.

Some Music Notes wrapped with Twine. A Doilie  pinned to the twine with a clothespin and a Joy pennant to accent…

A simple wreath ornament placed on a package with the word NOEL cut in vinyl and placed…

I think this one is one of my favorites.  A card label holder with Merry Christmas printed inside, placed on a piece of thin wood that is painted like barn wood. It is layered on burlap that is wrapped around book paper wrapping.

Some bottle brush trees on top of a log slice with Micro flakes sprinkled and glued down to it.

Washi tape and a Twenty Five pennant…

I made this peppermint out of wood.  It is a fun accent to a gift. The word cheer is cut out of vinyl and placed on the brown sack for accent.

If you would like to see more of how I made the peppermint and how I used it in other types of Christmas decor, you can see that here

I just finished building a Pottery Barn inspired Advent Calendar where I use a Peppermint as a countdown Marker, you can see that here
